Dear OG Associates & Members
AN IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT – for the first time since our inaugural edition in 2007, there will be no cover vote for our next edition. Read on to find out why!
Q4 of 2024 was one of the most exciting ever! This quarter was a testament to our shared passion for our ocean, marked by revolutionary events and unforgettable moments of inspiration.
An OG Milestone - On the 8th and 9th of November, we successfully hosted our inaugural Ocean Geographic conference as part of the Blue Water EduFest at ONE°15 Marina, Sentosa. The first day culminated in two unforgettable highlights - The launch of SOULS: A new memoir celebrating the lives of six ocean legends and the premiere of 2099: Power in Us: A feature film capturing the outcome from our Antarctic Climate Expedition – ACE 2023. This premiere was attended by U.S. Ambassador Jonathan Kaplan and over 200 delegates, making it an evening to remember.
Then exactly one month later, on 8th December, with the support of City Developments Ltd, we orchestrated a historic Dialogue of the Century. ‘HOPE and HARMONY’ for the first time, two of our planet’s most iconic legends, Dr Sylvia Earle and Dr Jane Goodall shared the stage at Orchard Hotel, Singapore. This once-in-a-lifetime dialogue captivated an audience of nearly 1,500. HOPE and HARMONY’ was more than just a dialogue; it was a powerful call to action.
In the spirit of Christmas, and to continue spreading this inspiration, we will broadcast a special segment of the momentous dialogue on Christmas Day, December 25th, at 8:00 AM AEST (Sydney). Watch this extraordinary exchange at: Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/OceanGeographic or youtube https://www.youtube.com/@OceanGeographic
In our upcoming January edition, our cover story will focus on Saving Global Biodiversity. Biodiversity is the foundation of our planet’s health and directly impacts our lives. The current loss of biodiversity threatens food security, freshwater availability, and ecological balance.
2025 will be super exciting! We are gearing up for another exhilarating year. Highlights include the Bears Ice Glaciers Arctic Climate Expedition (BIG ACE) and we will start celebrating Dr. Sylvia Earle’s 90th from our January edition.
So for next issue – we are proud to announce Sylvia Earle will be our cover-girl!
Regadring upcoming trips, we have firm dates for our Amazing Wonders of Japan expedition – 17 to 26 Aug 2025

Few remaining spots for the Azores – this remarkable outpost is the only spot for a true Blue Planet experience! Expect to interact with Blue sharks, giant Sicklefin Mobulas, Bluefin tunas in bait balls, and if we are lucky – whales in one of the last remaining pristine blue wildernesses. From all of us at Ocean Geographic, we wish you a happy holiday season, a blessed Christmas, and the merriest New Year. Thank you for your unwavering support, and we look forward to an impactful 2025 together.
