As we dive into our 18th year, we are thrilled to announce the upcoming release of our 69th edition. Since our launch in 2007, your unwavering support has been the cornerstone of our journey, enabling us to embark on numerous ventures to preserve the health of our oceans. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our supporters, especially our founding supporters—ROLEX and SEACAM—and our very first subscriber, Mr. Henrik Nimb, who has renewed his subscription every year since the beginning.
Our next edition’s main feature is "Obsession with ICE" by Professor David and Denise Holland, a dedicated science couple who have spent a lifetime documenting the ice shelves and glaciers of the Antarctic and Arctic. This 20-page story provides profound insights into these ‘air conditioners’ of our natural world.
For the past 12 years, our 3rd quarter edition has proudly showcased the winners of our Pictures of the Year competition. This year, we present the work of 82 winners who have been awarded 101 laureates, named in honour of the Who's Who in underwater arts and science. Aligned with our mission to inspire change through the power of pictures, these award winners continue to foster love and care for our oceans. The overarching theme of our connection to the ocean, especially in the current geopolitical climate, is celebrated by the winner of this year's Best Picture Award, "Connected" by Norm Vexler. *We encourage you to watch CONNECTED.
We received an overwhelming interest for our special expedition to the Azores this year – many miss out! Here is the Good News – we have just confirmed dates for next year– expect to interact with Blue sharks, giant Mobulas, Bluefin tunas in bait balls and if we are lucky – Sperm whales in one of the last remaining pristine blue wildernesses. Email us if you’re interested.
2025 is Dr Sylvia Earle's 90th birthday year! We have received huge interest in the "BIG ACE - the Bears, Ice, Glaciers, Arctic Climate Expedition scheduled for June of 2025 to celebrate the cumulative achievements of Dr Sylvia Earle. All members of BIG ACE will be inducted as ambassadors for the fragile Arctic Wilderness. YOU CAN BE A CATALYST FOR CHANGE. This can be your legacy. Here is a personal invitation from Dr Sylvia Earle - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bX8iDnUiBeI&t=6s. T
